Apocalypse Now

Apocalypse

The end is nigh, says Bible scholars. End of June, that is.

In the last hour or so, we have come across several mentionings of the pending doom, sourced from a press release. They advise New Yorkers with faith in God to be at least 20 miles away from Midtown Manhattan between Sundown Thursday June 29th and Sundown Tuesday July 4th 2006, because they are “98% confident” that the Bible predicts the UN Plaza in Midtown Manhattan will be hit by a terrorist nuclear bomb.

It’s quite pleasant to make June’s last weekend a long one, perhaps reviewing history; but the flip side is, what’s the point of returning if the self-proclaimed prophets turn out to be right? Would our fair city be there when you come back?

Apocalypse Now. Better still, a digital one.
