StepForbes Wives

Filed under: Culture — Grendel @ 7:03 pm

In our jet-lagged grogginess, we let slip this Forbes edition of Stepford Wives, circa 2006. Sadly, if you haven’t checked out this piece, we can’t offer any consolation as Forbes has apparently pulled the piece from its website.

Boing Boing recommended a few alternative titles such as “Why Michael Noer Never Got Laid Again, Except By That One Girl Who Works at The Piggly-Wiggly and Cain’t Read so Good” and “Why You Should Marry a Doormat” to the Michael Noer original on Forbes.com (as of earlier today), “Don’t Marry Career Women”. Naturally, Gawker had a field day.

Perhaps the irony is not entirely lost on Forbes “smart women will pull a Bobbitt” dotcom. Now every woman with an ounce of intelligence will be aware of Forbes, Michael Noer and his/its coming of age in this post-feminism Web 2.0 era.
